Week 1 of the NFL season is upon us Bills fans and
expectations for the Buffalo Bills are all over the board. The early preseason excitement seems replaced
with the doom and gloom of a 0-4 preseason record. While Bills fans are jumping off bandwagons
Jets fans are seemingly jumping off the Empire State Building after their teams
even more lackluster preseason. The
Jet’s barely scored and offensive touchdown and were just plain dismal all the
way around. Below is a breakdown of what
I think will happen this Sunday.
Bills on Offense:
HEY MARK SUPER MARIO IS COMING FOR YA |
When the Bills have the ball the key to victory will be a ball control
game, getting both Fred Jackson and CJ Spiller heavily involved in the
offense. Once the Jet’s defense is
sufficiently worn down a mix of Quick hitting slants and outs will start to hit. Much has been made this week about the
matchup between Stevie Johnson and Darrell Revis, but the real key to the
passing game Sunday will be David Nelson and Scott Chandler over the middle. If Fitzpatrick can make the needed passes to
move the chains and not make any of the huge mistakes that plagued him late
last season the Bills will be in good position for a win.
Bills on Defense:
The key to the Bills Defensive attack Sunday will be to get after Sanchez early and often with Mario Williams and the rest of the Bills new heralded front 4. With two young, but talented, cornerbacks getting Sanchez to make faster than anticipated decisions will be very helpful. The Linebacking unit will need to step up and prove they are up to the task of shutting down Greene and company. Look for Darius Byrd and George Wilson to be heavily involved in both covering and in the box.
Game
Prediction:
This game is huge for
both sides as it will set an early tone in the division as to which team will
be stepping up to challenge the Patriots for the first place crown. While the game should be a close one I feel
the Bills have the edge in overall roster talent. Prediction 24-17 Bills
